Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Secret Game Studio ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you play our iOS games and when you use this website. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about what we do collect.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal data is WGMC Holdings Ltd (trading as Secret Game Studio), a company registered in England and Wales. You can reach our privacy contact via the contact form on this website, or request our postal address through that form.
2. Information we collect
- Game account. To play, the app creates a game account from a device-generated identifier. No name or email is required to play.
- Profile choices. You may choose to set a display username and an optional country, which are shown on leaderboards and your profile.
- Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive a purchase receipt or confirmation so we can grant the purchase. We never receive or store your payment card details.
- Gameplay and progress. We store gameplay and progress data such as scores, levels, items, and leaderboard standings on our servers to operate the game.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple to carry your account across devices, we receive the Apple-provided identifier. You may use Apple's Private Email Relay to keep your email address hidden from us.
- Word definitions. When you look up a word, that request is sent to a third-party dictionary provider (Wordnik) to return the definition.
- Technical and diagnostic logs. We process basic technical and diagnostic logs to operate and secure the service.
- Website contact form. If you contact us through this website, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit.
We do not show third-party advertising, we do not sell personal data, and we do not collect precise location.
3. How we use it
- To create and operate your game account and save your progress.
- To run leaderboards and show the username and country you choose.
- To grant and validate in-app purchases.
- To let you carry your account across devices via Sign in with Apple.
- To return word definitions when you request them.
- To keep the service running, secure, and free from abuse.
- To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
4. Legal bases (UK/EU GDPR)
Where the UK GDPR and EU GDPR apply, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the game, maintain your account and progress, and deliver purchases you make.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the service and prevent abuse, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional choices you make, such as setting a username or country, or contacting us. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with applicable law.
5. Third parties & processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run the game and website. These currently include:
- Apple — the App Store, in-app purchases, and Sign in with Apple.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and data storage.
- Cloudflare — content delivery network that serves the game's images and audio.
- Wordnik — word definitions when you look up a word.
- Our website contact-form provider — to receive and deliver messages you send through this website.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
6. Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, a parent or guardian can contact us via the contact form on this website and we will remove it.
7. International transfers
Our hosting is provided by Amazon Web Services in a United States region, so your data is stored in the United States. Some of our other providers may also process data outside your country. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required by applicable law.
8. Data retention
We keep your account and gameplay data while your account is active. We delete your personal data following a verified deletion request, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request rectification of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing;
- data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the website contact form. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you are in the EU, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond appropriately if an issue arises.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
12. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact WGMC Holdings Ltd (trading as Secret Game Studio) through the contact form on this website. Our postal address is available on request via that form.
